Cory Bytof and the Dollops of Light

My music on this site ranges from folk to alt-country to rock and punk. I employ dense lyrics with storytelling. I hope I'm painting pictures of folks and situations that are unique yet universal in some way. I find much of everyday life to be heroic and instructional. I also enjoy comedy so you'll find little sprigs of humor planted here and there. 

Speaking of humor, check out my foray into musical theatre. I co-wrote The Texas Chainsaw Musical! Self-produced in 2009 by my co-writer Chris Minori and I at the San Francisco Fringe Festival, it then was produced in theaters across the country. It was named a Top 10 Production in 2012 by the Cleveland Plain Dealer thanks to a top-notch production by Blank Canvas Theatre. Check out some video clips on our website and YouTube page. 

I don't tour, but perform occasionally in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hope to post more songs over time. If you have any interest in using any of my songs or covering them, please reach out and let me know. I'd be thrilled to hear other folks perform them.
